This past Sunday was an exciting day in primary sharing time. The Chorister was teaching the words to the 2nd verse of the hymn "I Stand All Amazed" to the children. When they got to the part about "His throne divine" one curious youngster raised his hand and asked "What does divine mean", the wise chorister explained that it means "of God, or like God"...they continued... then they got to the line "That he should extend his great love unto such as I" the chorister looked up to see this same eager child wildly waving his arm in the air again. She called on him and he said "ummm, what is extend". Once again this dear chorister patiently explained... "Extend is like when someone falls into a river and someone *extends* (while thrusting her arm forward) a helping hand to that person.... the little boy said "Ooooooh, ok... I know some people that sometimes extend their middle finger and only their middle finger to other people" Let me tell ya...bless her heart, the chorister didn't miss a beat...she said "well, that sounds like a good discussion to have with your parents!" My Hubby (a primary teacher), on the other hand, said he had a really hard time not bursting out in laughter!!!
These kids just keep coming into the world stronger, braver, smarter and more valiant every day! The letters I get from my missionary and the snippets I have seen on the MM Group leave me in awe of these courageous young people! They have the light of Christ in their eyes! They serve willingly...and most days happily!
I stand all amazed at the rising generation! I am grateful for their strong testimonies and inquisitive minds. I stand all amazed that they go out into the world and spread the GOOD NEWS, the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
....and although there are many that may extend that darn finger....there are many who are able and ready to extend that helping hand.... they are called Missionaries!!!!

Love this:)
ReplyDeletethat just made me smile so big. I think the children today are one kind or another. They are either in God's army or they are not. There are no fence sitters. And when I say children, I don't necessarily mean all little kids... I am referring two children over the age of 8 to the age of 18. These littles come out ready to serve. It just warms my heart.
ReplyDeleteThis video is so beautiful! Thank you for your time and energy. I'm so grateful for the sacrifice of all these young men and women!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha sooo funny!!! Primary is never boring!!!
ReplyDeleteKids are awesome!
ReplyDeleteOut of the mouths of babes! Primary is a wonderful place to watch our future missionaries as they grow and develop the testimonies they will one day share!

ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do Heidi!!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite hymns. It was one of my mother's favorites as well. My mother was the one who opened the door to two missionaries on a New Year's
ReplyDeleteDay many, many years ago and invited them in, forever changing the course of many of our family members' lives. I'm grateful for her, for the message of this hymn and for missionaries (my daughter included) who share this message and whose sphere of influence they many never realize in this lifetime but surely will in the next. Thank you taking the time to make these beautiful videos.
Thanks for sharing Heidi
ReplyDeleteWow this was great :) thanks for all you do putting these videos together
ReplyDeletePrimary is always full of surprises. This make me smile because I know this sweet child was really paying attention and thinking about the words they would be singing. Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI stand ALL AMAZED at the wonderful Mom's that are waiting "patiently" for their missionary or missionaries to come home, all the while working just as hard as their children are to share the good news to anyone that will listen! What a blessing to live in these times and SEE the GOOD that is out there because there is soo much of it out there. Thanks Heidi and all our other wonderful angels who help all of us stay in touch. :)
